Going the extra mile
We all know that Santa goes the extra mile to bring gifts to children, but did you know the Postal Service also goes the extra mile to help you through the holidays? It sure does!
Some of my fondest holiday memories actually involve the Postal Service going that extra mile. Growing up I was fortunate to live in many countries around the world, but I always missed certain things from the United States. As a teenager I lived in Mexico City, which was a magical and exciting city with so much to offer. However, there were a few things I really missed, such as shopping in American stores. Fitting in is critical when you are a teenager, and nothing makes you stand out more than having to wear jeans your mother made! I was desperate for some store-bought American jeans, but I didn’t know how to get them. This may seem like a silly problem today, but this was before the internet. There was however, a fantastic option that made it possible for me to order clothes and get those American made jeans, the Postal Service delivered catalogs and packages to military and diplomatic families living in Mexico!
At that time, I never gave much thought about how this happened, I just knew the Postal Service went the extra mile and delivered. I got what I wanted and I was happy. Many things have changed since then, but one remains the same, the Postal Service still delivers every day in this country, and to military and diplomatic families living around the world!
Today, the Postal Service makes it even easier to send your holiday gifts and greetings. Check your mailbox for the Postal Service’s holiday mailing. Included is what you need to know to make your mailing and shipping stress-free. Are you wondering when you need to send your holiday gifts to your sister Sue in Sioux City, or what about your brother Ben in Franklin? Look no further, the Postal Service has provided all this information in one easy place.
How much simpler can it be?
From the comfort of your home, you can order all of the stamps and postal shipping materials you need, then you can ship with Click-N-Ship, and when you are ready to mail everything, you can have your carrier pick it all up.
And with Informed Delivery notifications, you can get a sneak peek at what’s coming to your mailbox before you get home. This really comes in handy during the holidays. While you are away visiting family, you can check your email and if you notice a holiday card from someone you didn’t send a card to, you don’t have to wait until you get home. Stop by a local Post Office, pick up a card, and mail it while you are away. Now you can breathe a sigh of relief, they will never know you accidentally crossed them off your holiday greetings list.
So sit back, relax, enjoy the holidays with your family and friends, and let the Postal Service go that extra mile for you. The Postal Service delivers the holidays!
