Together we can help Stamp Out Hunger in 2020 on May 9
It might not feel like it just yet, but spring is in the air. Buds are starting to blossom. Grass is turning slightly greener. Birds that migrated south are starting to return.
The annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive—the second Saturday in May—is closer than you might think.
May 9 is this year’s date for the nation’s largest single-day food drive, which is sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC).
About one in eight people face hunger every day in the United States. This drive is one way for you to help those in need.
On May 9, place a bag of non-perishable food next to your mailbox before your carrier delivers the mail. The carrier will do the rest. The food is sorted and delivered to a local food bank or pantry.
Making a difference together
Led by dedicated letter carriers, other postal employees, union members and Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive partners, the food drive makes a difference.
Over its 27 years, the food drive has grown to include all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Guam, resulting in the collection of 1.75 billion pounds of food.
NALC’s national partners in the food drive are the United States Postal Service, the National Rural Letter Carriers’ Association, the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union; the AFL-CIO, the Kellogg Co, CVS Health, United Way, Valassis and Valpak Direct Marketing Systems.
Let’s Stamp Out Hunger one donation at a time!
