The Holidays Are Just Weeks Away (Which also means 2020 is nearly over! Whew!)
Wow. 2020 has been a challenge, for sure. The concept of time has gotten away from many of us this year. To quote the Grateful Dead, “What a long strange trip it’s been.” And while you might not be quite ready to admit that the holidays are indeed just around the corner, the Postal Service has been preparing for this — along with other things — for months!
We’ve been zooming and planning and getting more festive than ever — socially distant, of course! And once again we are “holiday-ifying” this blog. For the next 12 weeks, this space will provide you with the information you need to help make this season happier and less stressful. And who doesn’t want less stress right about now? Here’s what you need to know:
The Holiday Newsroom (usps.com/holidaynews) will soon be ready for the season. News releases, domestic, military and international shipping deadlines, fact sheets, tips to avoid shipping glitches, videos and other content will be posted regularly on this one-stop easy-to-access site.
New stamps this year include Holiday Delights (9/24), Hanukkah (10/6), Kwanzaa (10/13), Winter Scenes (10/16) and Our Lady of Guápulo (10/20). Holiday stamps from previous years are available as well. All can be purchased online at usps.com/stamps beginning on the dates mentioned above.
Need shipping boxes? Priority Mail and Priority Mail Express boxes are free. There’s even a free Military Care Kit that contains all the address labels, customs envelopes and Priority Mail tape you need for the six boxes that come in the kit: 2 APO/FPO flat-rate boxes and 4 medium flat-rate boxes. Plan ahead and order them now at usps.com/store.
The Postal Service will also be sharing holiday information on its main web page at usps.com, in Post Office locations, in the media and on its social channels:
The Postal Service delivers the holidays — whether it’s at the doorstep, the neighborhood Post Office or online at usps.com. We’ve been helping holidays happen for more than 245 years.
This Is Our Season
We Deliver the Holidays
We Deliver for Yule
It’s What We Do
And after the year we’ve had so far, we all deserve to have a very happy holiday even more than we usually do!
