I've served as USPS Historian since 2011, following 20 years of on-the-job training in the Historian's Office. In that time my responsibilities grew from researching and responding to requests for information, to writing new sources of information. Now I also manage the "Postal History" webpages, the Postal Service's collection of historic artifacts and records, and the USPS Library.
I never wear white. From antique mailboxes to century-old ledgers to mailbags made of leather – handling history is dirty work. Home is also a challenge – my husband and I live with five affectionate dogs, in every size and color, who shed hair with abandon. We're a happy mess.
